Because from the moment you decide to make it until the moment you eat it, 5 minutes will pass.
And if that’s not enough, the number of dishes that you will get dirty while making it is a bowl and a spoon.
So there is no way that you’re not getting up right now to make this gorgeous pizza!!

Microwave Tahini Pizza
Ingredients: suitable for a personal pizza on a plate about 16cm (6.5”) (A plate suitable for cake is perfect)
For the Pizza’s mixture:
- 1 egg (Size M / L)
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 1 tablespoon water
- A tiny pinch of salt
- A tiny pinch of baking powder (Half of a ¼ of a teaspoon)
For the topping:
- 2 tablespoons ketchup / tomato paste
- Pinch of salt
- Handful of mozzarella cheese / grilled cheese (Not grilled) Shredded or diced
Steps:
- In a bowl mix the egg, tahini, water, salt and baking powder until forming a uniform mixture.
- Smear a little oil on the plate used for making the pizza and pour the mixture on it.
- Put the plate in the microwave for between 1-1½ minutes, until the mixture is dry and looks a little like an omlette.
- Spread the tomato paste / ketchup, pour a little salt and scatter the cheese. Now is the time to add toppings- just remember since the pizza is hardly heated, not any topping would work. Put in the microwave for about 30 seconds more until the cheese has completely melted.
Take out of the microwave pour a little oregano (Not a must) and serve 🙂
***Some microwaves have different power than others, therefore the times are slightly flexible and accurate according to each microwave and its power level.
A little extra from me:
- I recommend serving the pizza in proximity to the time of making it.
- The portions can be doubled using a bigger plate for making pizza for two.
- Tahini can be substituted for almond butter / peanut butter / any other nut butter or seeds that you like (Each option will provide a slightly different taste).
- Can also be made in the oven: the baking time for the bottom of the pizza is 5 minutes in an oven preheated to 355°F (180°C). After adding the toppings, baking time is between 2-4 minutes in the same heat.
