I love upgrading our spread jars at home.
They combine beautifully in lots of exciting and happy bites,
And they’re full of wonderful nutritional values.
I decided to make my orange coconut just like that on the spot,
The citrus fruit bowl was full of goodies and the kids really enjoy peeling tangerines,
And it became a joint activity of all of us together.
The children peeled the tangerines,
And I dedicated myself to making the spread that we would eat on the side.
The spread is rich in calcium,
Full of wonderful minerals,
And adds a lot of interest to the bite.
It exposes the children to textures,
It gives a longer feeling of satiety,
The children enjoy the comfort they get after eating it,
And it’s simply a happy bite that’s great for filling moments during the day.
An orange coconut spread that everyone will fall in love with in an instant,
A spread that’ll fit perfectly into a sandwich,
And it’ll be wonderful next to fresh fruit.
You can keep it in the fridge for a week.
And it’s a balanced bite that’s also fun to nibble with a spoon.
Its preparation is so fast and fun,
The children can participate in it,
And in one quick and delicious moment it’ll be yours 🙂
Happy and joyful winter days to all of us 🙂
Orange coconut spread
Ingredients
Suitable for a 250ml jar
- ½ cup raw tahini (for alternatives, have a look at “A little extra from me”)
- ¼ cup maple syrup or honey (for alternatives, have a look at “A little extra from me”)
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tablespoons coconut powder (can be roasted or not)
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- Orange zest from a whole orange
Preparation
Put all the ingredients in a bowl in the following order: raw tahini, maple syrup, salt, coconut powder and finally the orange juice and orange zest and mix well. It’s important to mix very well.
Transfer our spread to a jar and that’s it, our spread is ready 🙂
A little extra from me:
- The spread can be kept in a sealed jar / box in the fridge for up to 1 week.
- If your spread doesn’t come out smooth, try adding another tablespoon or two of orange juice.
- You can replace the tahini with almond butter / hazelnut butter / cashew butter / peanut butter.
- You can replace the maple syrup with honey / agave syrup / date honey (note that the taste of the date honey takes over a little).
- You can omit the coconut or replace it with any other add-in of your choice, such as cocoa nibs, chopped peanuts, chopped pecans, sunflower seeds, ginger powder, pumpkin seeds, diced dried fruit, etc.
- Try the spread alongside clementine slices – wow, how dreamy it is.
- Enjoy, experiment, taste, experience, share and most importantly smile.
