Vegan chocolate-filled hamantaschen,
\n<\/span>There is such a bite and it\u2019s waiting for you right here below.
\n<\/span>Chocolate hamantaschen are my favorite bite.
\n<\/span>And this year I have for you a recipe so legendary that you won\u2019t stop eating it.
\n<\/span>This is a quick recipe that the filling is an integral part of,
\n<\/span>We start by making the filling and move on to making our wonderful and devoted dough.
\n<\/span>It’s a genius dough that\u2019ll give us vegan and intoxicating chocolate-filled hamantaschen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year we celebrated Purim in a state of shock due to our relocation.
\n<\/span>We were in Italy right at the beginning of our journey there,
\n<\/span>And it was our first holiday away from home and family.
\n<\/span>I decided to bring the holiday into our home,
\n<\/span>And I organized a Purim family party for us.
\n<\/span>It sounds easy, but in reality it’s just the journey of finding the ingredients I need to make the hamantaschen.
\n<\/span>It took me two days, because I was still struggling with my Italian and all the ingredients were written in Italian and almost no one spoke English.
\n<\/span>After I managed to get everything I needed, I came home excited and started making my hamantaschen.
\n<\/span>At every step of the recipe I got more and more excited,
\n<\/span>I felt my mother looking at me with her sparkling eyes even though she was far away and in Israel,
\n<\/span>I felt the happy and full laughter of my father surrounding the dressed up and happy children,
\n<\/span>I felt the joy of my brothers around the event.
\n<\/span>As I was folding the last hamantaschen I felt myself,
\n<\/span>Essy the girl who can’t fall asleep from excitement the night before Purim.
\n<\/span>That girl who woke up very early on the morning of Purim with a lot of butterflies in her tummy,
\n<\/span>I remembered the indulgent Purim baskets I used to prepare and was proud of,
\n<\/span>I remembered the excitement surrounding wearing the costume,
\n<\/span>As soon as we were all at home we collected our excitement into pictures that will accompany us for years.
\n<\/span>As soon as I put the hamantaschen\u00a0 in the oven I realized,
\n<\/span>That we will forever feel at home wherever my heart beats and my loved ones are by my side.
\n<\/span>It just depends on me and the feeling you will have in our house.<\/span><\/p>\n

And so with great excitement,
\n<\/span>We designed the living room of our house,
\n<\/span>On a completely ordinary Saturday for the Italians,
\n<\/span>Purim songs played in the background,
\n<\/span>We all dressed up
\n<\/span>We danced, we sang, we celebrated our holiday,
\n<\/span>Our family,
\n<\/span>Our Purim everywhere in the world.
\n<\/span>We told the children stories about the Purim holidays we had when we were children,
\n<\/span>We hugged, we loved, we ate the hamantaschen, we laughed a lot,
\n<\/span>And in my heart I knew that everything I wanted was by my side,
\n<\/span>May the sweet memories that surround me from the past always remain in my heart,
\n<\/span>Now we are left to create new memories of life in our here and now.<\/span><\/p>\n

The hamantaschen that I made at that Purim celebration accompanied us all year,
\n<\/span>In moments of sweet longing for a grandparent’s hug,
\n<\/span>We would go into the kitchen together, the kids and I, and we would make this sweet bite,
\n<\/span>Which took on a huge meaning and in a way gave us a sense of home.<\/span><\/p>\n

This recipe has a huge place in my heart.
\n<\/span>Its light and his story are here to celebrate with all of us this happy holiday,
\n<\/span>Anywhere in the world and at any given moment in our lives.
\n<\/span>It came to gladden the heart,
\n<\/span>Unite the family,
\n<\/span>Stop for a moment with a bite at the end of the hamantaschen in our mouth and say thank you,
\n<\/span>Thank you for the happy heart,
\n<\/span>Thank you for the endless togetherness,
\n<\/span>Thank you for the opportunity to celebrate,
\n<\/span>Thanks for the abundance,
\n<\/span>Thank you for this moment no matter what storm is brewing outside,
\n<\/span>No matter how much longing or worries are in your hearts,
\n<\/span>Just for a short and wonderful moment we will stop everything,
\n<\/span>We will celebrate this bite and the here and now,
\n<\/span>And give thanks for all the good we have and the good that\u2019s yet to come.<\/span><\/p>\n
